Kingdom Sail Ltd is a faith-driven adventure organization that runs transformational sailing camps for middle and high school students in the Caribbean. Our 12-day summer programs are designed to cultivate deep faith in Jesus, develop leadership, encourage generosity, and spark a heart for missions—all while learning to sail and serving local communities.


Job Summary

We seek confident, experienced, and spiritually grounded Sailing Captains to lead our youth crews safely and passionately through their 12-day sailing and discipleship journeys. The Captain will be responsible for the vessel’s safe operation, navigation, oversight of participants’ sailing education, and creating an environment that fosters faith, courage, fun, and purpose on board.


Key Responsibilities

  • Safely command a 40-50ft sailboat with 8–10 participants and 2-3 staff onboard
  • Plan and execute safe passage routes between Caribbean islands in alignment with Kingdom Sail itineraries
  • Teach foundational sailing skills and seamanship to teenagers aged 11–18
  • Partner with on-board leaders to guide daily devotionals, worship sessions, and missional outreach activities
  • Uphold and model Kingdom Sail’s values: Faith, Fun, Finances, Family, Freedom, Fitness, Focus, and Legacy
  • Oversee safety drills, boat maintenance, and emergency preparedness
  • Ensure compliance with all local maritime regulations and safety protocols
  • Serve as a role model for Christ-like leadership, stewardship, and integrity

Qualifications

  • RYA Yachtmaster Offshore or equivalent (USCG Master, etc.) ASA Level 1 – 4
  • Valid STCW certification
  • Extensive sailing experience, preferably in the Caribbean
  • Experience working with youth and/or in faith-based programs
  • Strong leadership, conflict-resolution, and communication skills
  • Passion for Jesus and a desire to disciple others through adventure
  • Ability to work under pressure in dynamic, multicultural environments
  • First Aid/CPR certification (Wilderness First Responder preferred)
  • Clean background check and character references

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Christian ministry, missions, or youth mentorship
  • Bilingual (English/French or English/Spanish)
  • Knowledge of Caribbean culture and maritime regulations
