Sailing & Watersports

Ready to set sail on the greatest journey of your life?

If a regular summer camp sounds basic, Kingdom Sail is where it’s at! Imagine living on a boat in the Caribbean for 12 days, learning to sail, exploring island after island, and taking on mission projects that make a difference. Why settle for land when you could be steering your way through paradise? Never sailed before? No problem. We’ll teach you the ropes (literally). No matter your skills, you’ll pick it up in the calm, clear waters of the Caribbean. Plus, there’s no shortage of fun—we’re talking snorkeling, swimming, hiking, and discovering hidden beaches most people only see in movies. Your crew consists of the Program Director, Captain, and First Mate, who are experienced instructors, other teens like you, and a tight-knit group that makes everyone feel like family. By the end of the trip, you’ll have new skills, fantastic friends, leadership confidence, and unforgettable memories. And here’s the best part: it’s not just about the adventure; it’s about growing in your faith. You’ll get to know Jesus better daily while exploring His creation and serving others. So, if you’re ready to trade the ordinary for the extraordinary, sign up for Kingdom Sail and prepare for the adventure of a lifetime!

Sail, Serve & Grow Missional Sailing Camp

Our 12-day life-changing Teen sailing adventure camps are for Middle and High school students throughout the Caribbean. By integrating sailing and community service, we create opportunities for young people to grow deeper in their relationship with Jesus, make lifelong friendships, and live out their faith in a meaningful way. By partnering with local churches and faith communities, our Summer leadership sailing camps inspire young people to learn, serve, and impact the world around them, all while experiencing the beauty and adventure of the open waters.

Require Experience: NONE

Ages: 12-18

Boarding Location: Antigua, East Caribbean

No Experience? You soon will!

Get ready for an adventure where your boat mates become your second family. Here, we all pitch in as a team, taking turns with boat duties to keep life at sea running smoothly. Whether hoisting sails, cooking a meal or scrubbing the deck, everyone has a role to play in creating an unforgettable boat life experience.
Living together on the boat is a massive part of the Kingdom Sail journey! You’ll share a room with others of the same gender (there are four bathrooms on board), but most of us end up sleeping under the stars. With warm Caribbean nights and the sound of the sea, there’s nothing quite like drifting off in a hammock or on the deck under a sky full of stars.

Our “ocean showers” are part of the fun: lather up, jump in to rinse, and finish with the outdoor shower to wash off the salt. This way, we save fresh water for the whole trip. We even have a desalinator to make fresh water—though it’s slow, so we make the most of every drop! It’s all part of the adventure: living simply, working as a team, and experiencing life on the open sea. And don’t worry—no sailing experience is needed to join in!

Life Onboard Your Yacht!

At Kingdom Sail, our Summer travel camps for teens, we embark on an adventure where your boat mates quickly become family. We all pitch in and work as a team, taking turns with different boat jobs to keep everything running smoothly. Everyone contributes to the unique boat life, from hoisting sails to cooking meals and washing up to keeping the boat clean.
Communal living is a key part of the Kingdom Sail adventure. There are usually four bathrooms on board, and you’ll share a room with others of the same gender. But honestly, most of us prefer sleeping under the stars! With the warm Caribbean nights, it’s pretty epic to drift off in a hammock or on a deck mat, surrounded by the sounds of the sea and a sky full of stars.

We use a cool system for showering: lather up, jump in the ocean to rinse off and use the outdoor shower to wash away the salt water. This way, we save our fresh water supply for the whole trip. We have a desalinator to make more fresh water, but it works slowly.

On-Shore Adventures - FUN!

When we’re not sailing, we’re all about exploring!
Get ready to step into the heart of the Caribbean! We’ll hike lush trails leading to epic viewpoints, uncover hidden treasures on remote islands, and dive into vibrant towns where you’ll experience rich culture and maybe snag a few unique souvenirs. Every stop is an adventure—a secluded waterfall or a colorful village marketplace.
Beach time isn’t just for sunbathing! We’ll play team games, enjoy some downtime, and roll up our sleeves for meaningful mission projects that let us give back to the communities we visit. From feeding the hungry to running kids camps or sharing the Gospel we’ll make a real impact together.
Wander through bustling food markets and taste the Caribbean—think tangy jerk chicken, exotic tropical fruits, and more! You’ll soak up the heart and soul of each island, creating unforgettable memories. Adventure, culture, and service blend seamlessly on this journey, giving you moments that inspire and challenge. From bonfires on the beach, laughter, and stargazing to discovering the joy of serving others, you’re in for a non-stop, unforgettable experience!

Serving Local Communities and Growing the Kingdom Together

We’re all about bringing God’s love to life, teaming up with local churches to make a real impact in the communities we visit. From running fun kids’ camps and sprucing up stunning beaches to clearing hiking trails and counting sea turtles along the shore, there’s always a way to serve with purpose.
One of our biggest missions is feeding communities in need. Working alongside local initiatives, we help provide meals for families, making every day an opportunity to bring hope and share blessings. It’s about serving with open hearts, growing deeper in faith, and creating lifelong memories. Together, we’ll experience the joy of giving, the strength of community, and the thrill of living out the Gospel in ways that truly matter.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to know how to sail?
No sailing experience is needed at all. You will soon pick up how to sail. If you already can sail we will help you to build on your experience.
I can't swim can I still come?
We’d love to have you join us, but for safety reasons, all participants must be confident swimmers before coming on board. Sailing adventures often involve time in the water for activities like snorkeling and water sports, so being able to swim is essential. If you’re not quite there yet, we encourage you to take some swim lessons first—we’d be thrilled to welcome you once you’re ready!
What type of boat will I be living on?
You will either be staying on a mono hulled boat or a Catamaran. You will be allocated a shared room which you can choose whether you sleep in there or not. Many choose to sleep on the deck under the stars.
What duties will I have onboard?
You’ll be part of a team to help keep the boat clean and tidy. Students will be split into two teams: the inside and outside teams. The inside team cleans up after meals, wipes surfaces, empties bins, and sweeps the floors. The outside team washes dishes, tidies up, and helps clean the deck. It usually takes about 20 minutes with everyone pitching in, and then you get to enjoy a fun activity as a reward! Each day, one student will be the “Junior Skipper” and lead the cleaning, write up the day’s schedule, and send a summary to parents. It’s a great way to learn leadership and have fun!
Do I need to wear my life jacket all the time?
You’ll be wearing life jackets for all watersports when you’re on smaller boats and even on our 40’ yachts while we’re sailing or cruising. You’ll also be geared up with harnesses for night sails to keep everyone safe and secure. Safety first, adventure always!
What if I don’t want to participate in an activity?

If you’re looking for a break from doing watersport activities, there’s plenty of other fun stuff to do. Chill with your new friends over a smoothie, read a book, play a game or relax on an inflatable whilst soaking up the Caribbean sun.

What will I be eating onboard?
When you arrive, dry foods such as pasta, cans, snacks, and cereal will be on board. When we visit each island, we will buy fresh food like fruits, vegetables, and meat. Meals might differ from what you’re used to at home, but we’ll do our best to make them tasty! If you have any allergies or special dietary needs, make sure your parents email us before the trip so we can plan meals that work for you. Just remember, food options might differ slightly in the Caribbean, but there will be plenty to enjoy!
How is the food prepared?
Each day, two students will be chosen as the “chefs of the day.” Their job is to cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner for everyone. Don’t worry if you’ve never cooked before! We have a cooking guide with easy instructions, and instructors will be there to help. By the end of the trip, you’ll know how to make at least three different meals, and have fun doing it!
How many staff will be on each boat?
There will always be at least two staff on each boat.
What Qualifications / Certifications can I achieve?

We offer three levels of certifications which every student can work towards.

Kingdom Sail Crew Certification

Prerequisites: None.

The Crew Level is the starting point in Kingdom Sail’s certification program, designed to give students a strong foundation in sailing a larger vessel. This certification is essential for all participants, covering the basics of sailing and boat safety. You’ll complete hands-on skill check-offs and pass a multiple-choice exam to earn your Crew Level certification. Our captains will assess your progress and assign an ability score.

Kingdom Sail Bosun Certification

Prerequisites: Kingdom Sail Crew Certification.

The Bosun Level is the second stage in Kingdom Sail’s certification program, building on the skills mastered at the Crew Level. This certification focuses on more advanced sailing techniques, including sail reefing, timed tacking and jibing, island crossings, advanced navigation, anchoring, docking, de-docking, racing strategies, and enhanced safety protocols. Leadership skills, while underway, are a vital component of this level, preparing participants for greater responsibility on board. Earning the Bosun Level certification unlocks new opportunities within the sailing program.

Kingdom Sail Mate Certification

Prerequisite: Kingdom Sail Bosun Certification and at least one year with Kingdom Sail.

The Mate Level is Kingdom Sail’s highest certification. It is reserved for returning participants with exceptional dedication, skill, and a passion for sailing. This advanced certification is designed for experienced and committed sailors ready to take leadership roles.

To achieve Mate Level certification, participants work closely with a captain who guides them through a tailored development plan. This program covers advanced responsibilities, including assigning crew roles, managing all phases of seamanship and safety drills, operating and maintaining engines, dinghies, and equipment, keeping an accurate ship’s log, and monitoring weather conditions.

Graduates of the Mate Level are equipped to act as capable second-in-commands, embodying leadership and expertise. They are celebrated with special recognition for their outstanding sailing skills and leadership qualities, setting them apart as Kingdom Sail’s most accomplished sailors.
